Yoga creates optimal health through balancing, toning, and harmonizing all body-systems. Yoga calms agitation and discomfort in the mind, and regular practice creates the right conditions for the spontaneous arising of joy.
At Yoga Center Amherst our classes are taught with an attitude of exploration, investigation and fun. We pay particular attention to the coordination of breath and movement, in order to increase relaxation, comfort, and ease on all levels.
Our Yoga classes range from very gentle to very vigorous. We incorporate the principles of alignment taught in the major schools of yoga today, along with the principles of inner- alignment, that are presented in our own embodyoga™ programs. |

Experience comfortable, graceful and injury-free movement in yoga (and in life!) through whole-body-support templates, derived from Embodied Developmental Movement™. Our embodyoga™ classes are open to students of all levels. No previous experience is required. |

A well-balanced improvisation on the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa system, our embody ashtanga improv classes link continuous movement with rhythmic deep breathing. These classes detoxify all the body-systems, generate internal heat, purifying sweat, and develop the highest level of fitness. Radically increase your strength, stamina, personal power, focus and clarity of mind. Applying our embodyoga™ principles to the Ashtanga System you will integrate each and every movement, to and from the core, eliminating the risk of injury and insuring the ability to practice at any time of life. Our teacher, Karen Miscall-Bannon is a seasoned practitioner of traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa. Karen assists and teaches in our 500-Hr. embodyoga™ Teacher Training Program. |

In our embodycore™ classes you will experience the entire range of core, while you increase core-strength and stability! Discover your optimal inner alignment as you establish abdominal strength and connection. Integrate the whole-body-support-templates of embodyoga™ with Pilates and mindful-breath-flow. In this great class you will learn to enliven the chakra and glandular energy centers, while balancing the nervous system to increase health and vitality, through meditation in motion. |
