Core Concepts With brando

8 Class Series •
Wednesday evenings
7:15 - 8:45pm
September 29 - November 17
$100

Contact Improvisation is a movement practice with incredible potential to heal your body and invigorate your spirit. It is a movement form that is intricately linked with Body-Mind-Centering®.

This class series is for anyone who wants to move through space: walking, dancing, leaping, or falling, with far more ease and elegance.

In this series we will warm-up and move in solos as well as with other dancers.

We will explore:

  • Our relationship to the floor: releasing layers and feeling a natural rebounding energy
  • Gradations of tone in the body - learning to soften your body and lighten your weight
  • Safe (and fun) falling
  • Improvisation – how we can be consumed and surprised in every moment of the dance

Special Note: The first class will be a free introduction for those that are curious!

There will also be lecture demonstrations just before the following classes at 5:15 pm September 15, 16, and 21.
