Chanting relaxes the mind, opens the heart, and moves us into a deeper place of love and compassion within ourselves. |
 |
Kirtan is call and response chanting and singing in the Hindu tradition. Accompanied by harmonium, drum, cymbals and tamboura, chants are clearly taught and it is easy to follow along. Enjoy the resonant sound of the Sanskrit language with simple, beautiful melodies. For thousands of years kirtan has helped people find a quiet and still place within, leading them into meditation |

A little more about this practice:
Chanting devotional songs in Sanskrit is an ancient form of meditation. Thousands of years ago, yogis recognized the profound effects of sound vibrations on our states of consciousness and discovered that chanting specific words and names of God gives rise to an experience of the divine. Word sheets are provided; no experience necessary! |
