embodyoga® | Traveling to your Yoga Center
EMBODYOGA® is a radical and accessible approach for integrating asana, pranayama, meditation, Tantric philosophy, and full embodiment, into a deeply fulfilling and healing practice.
Our EMBODYOGA® programs offer precise techniques for bringing a whole-body-mind-experience-of-unity, into the forefront of each individual's immediate perception.
Utilizing Embodied Anatomy™, Embodied Developmental Movement™, and Embodied Inquiry, our practice leads us systematically through each and every level of body and mind. We delve deeply, and experience directly, our subtle structures, sheaths, and consciousness. In this way we radically deepen our field of awareness, and open to a fuller vision of all that we are.
Two important keys in this practice are santosha and viveka. Santosha is “contentment with what is”, without inferring non-action. Viveka is “discrimination”, leading to discriminative-understanding, and clarity. Profound self-acceptance, and increased recognition of “life as it actually is”, develops from the pairing of contentment and discrimination.
Our investigations are based on our own actual, direct perception, and authentic experience. Using our own body-mind system as the vehicle for our inquiry, and our own asana practice as the form, EMBODYOGA® helps us integrate our sense-ofself into a unified whole.
Whole-body-support-templates, derived from Embodied Developmental Movement™, enhance every style and level of yoga practice. These patterns are fundamental to the prevention of injury and assist optimal body-mind coordination. Our study includes:
- Vibration, Cellular Breathing, & Whole-Body- Ujjayi Pranayama
- The Fluid Body
- Navel Organization: Navel-Yielding, Navel- Stabilization, & Navel-Flooding Breath
- Hands-to-Tail & Feet-to-Head Support in Asana
- Calm Spine & Contained Body Principles
- Yield, Push, Reach, & Pull
- Asana as Relational Practice: Self & Other, Community, Environment, and Vastness
Embodied Anatomy™ and Embodied Inquiry also guide our explorations. Deepening awareness spreads prana, and increases health on all levels. Inquiring into the nature of our body's structures, we experience directly our inner-matrix of support. We witness the unified-field-of-intelligence, expressing through us as our own individual qualities and traits. Our study includes:
- Healthy Function and Movement and for Bones, Muscles, Ligaments, and Joints
- Embodying Organs and Glands in Movement and in Stillness
- Fundamentals of Breathing and Pranayama
- Embodying Diaphragms and Bandhas
- Creating Nervous System Balance
- Embodying Chakras and Kosas in Asana
The principles of EMBODYOGA® are thoroughly inclusive and apply to every style of yoga. These principles are inherent within each and every one of us, and therefore support all forms of movement. You will find them to be edifying and enriching to the style of yoga you practice and teach.
